If you find yourself in the Cadillac area this winter and enjoy outdoor snow sports, you need to plug the Cadillac Pathway Trailhead into your GPS, load up your gear, and expect to find something for everyone to enjoy!
The Cadillac Pathway offers groomed trails for a variety of activities, including: XC skiing, fat tire biking, snowshoeing and walking.
Each activity has its own groomed trail, offering a view of the Clam River.
The trail is sectioned into two parts; East and West, separated by Seeley road, and each side has its own personal characteristics.
Meet East:
East is more mild and moderate as far as hills go.
The XC ski trail offers a couple options for loops, giving you the opportunity to mix it up and add on for approx 7 miles total. XC skiing is groomed for classic skiing.
The fat tire loop, aka the WST, is also more mild to moderate climbs, and is a 5 mile loop, which can be biked in either direction. Please ride tires low pressure, and a minimum of 3.8".
The snowshoe/walking loop goes directly to the Clam River and loops back for a nice quick 2 mile loop, and is mostly flat.
Meet West:
West is wild, with moderate to challenging hills for both bikers and skiers, with more twists and turns to navigate as well.
There is also a groomed longer hiking trail at the ISD trailhead, closet to town, on 13th street. There are no facilities at this trailhead, and each trail is marked for its appropriate activity. The hiking trail is just under 3 miles. The bike trail portion is approx 7 miles, and the XC skiing section is also around 7 miles.
If you do both East and West, the total trail mileage is about 12 miles. Use caution when crossing Seeley Rd.
